We last tasted and reviewed this popular Kirkland Sauvignon Blanc only about seven months ago with the 2023 vintage.
We heard some reader feedback that the new 2024 vintage might be different and not as enjoyable as years past. We were fortunate enough to find the new vintage on our last Costco run so we can give it a taste test to see if anything changed from our viewpoint.

The price actually went down to $6.99, from a previous $7.49. A few years before that it was $7.99.
We've always said this bottle is the value buy for people who love Brancott, Oyster Bay, Nobilo or Kim Crawford, all priced $5-$10 more.
For us, we have similar tasting notes to the 2023 vintage. Light yellow in the glass; grassy, tropical fruit on the nose; tarty and acidic; flavors of green apple, lemon, lime; medium in body, crisp finish with lingering minerality.

Perhaps a bad case was floating around, but we find this 2024 bottle to be right on par with prior vintages. Please let us know what you think in the comments below.

I think these are great, I was hoping to see a review of this vintage. Thank you. I'm hoping to see the latest Malbec reviewed too. 🙂 Thank you!

Latest vintage of Malbec is up next

Wow, what are the odds, thank you!!!!

The Ti Point is our go to white. We did have one bottle this year that was not up to what we normally taste. I was concerned it might be the new vintage, but a couple of followup bottles were fine. Agree with you, very similar to past vintages.

We had a bottle of the 2024 the other night and it was delicious as other vintages. This is our “go to” Sauvignon Blanc so would notice any difference

I had a bottle about a month ago and found the wine to be nearly undrinkable. The grassy, cat piss element was way over the top. It sat opened in the fridge for a week before I poured it down the drain. Don't remember the vintage, but even at $7 I won't be buying more. As my grandfather (or was it Ben Franklin?) used to say, never buy something you don't want just to save money.
I had a similar experience with the Kirkland Sonoma Chardonnay, though this time it was the overwhelming nasty, cheap oak that sent it to the sink. This isn't wine, it's crap.

You are in the minority. Perhaps the price is affecting your palate.

LOL. Maybe your palate is affecting the price. Cheers.

I find the disparity in reviews interesting. Since these bottles are all screwcap sealed, I'm wondering if there is a problem with that process at the bottling facility?
We always purchase a test bottle prior to committing to our summer stock up. We found this vintage to be just what we've come to expect from this bottle. It's become our summer go to white.

interesting idea Craig..
My 4 bottles were fine. The disparity of reviews around a basic table wine is surprising.
Maybe it would be worth the Costco raters doing a random sample test at different stores, if we continue to see such variation. Maybe there was a shipment that turned a little? by geography perhaps?

I may be, but that doesn't change my opinion. De gustibus. It's not the price but the taste. I like the Kirkland Rioja, which is in the same price range. Ditto the Provence Rose, which is okay but not great. I may have had a bad bottle of the Ti Point. The Sonoma Chardonnay is just awful, sorry. Cheap wine is cheap for a reason. High price is no guarantee of quality, but you generally get what you pay for. The producer has to cut costs somewhere. But if you like a certain wine, whatever the price, I say enjoy it. I know what I like to drink, even if in a minority.

we like this 2024 wine as much as just about any other Sauvignon Blanc that Costco sells

A decent quaffer for those who like the grapefruit/grassy style of the Kiwi SB's at half the $$ of the others and with no noticeable drop in quality when tasted next to them. It's simple and to the point and priced right. I think of it as the "wine you drink before you drink WINE"

We enjoy this as a good mineral and tart white table wine. I too have had some 2023 bottles that were a bit sour rather tart and acidic, but other bottles were much better. Glad to hear the 2024 is reliable and comparable with earlier vintages.

I thought I didn't care for New Zealand sauvignon blanc----just too much cat pee for me. Tried a bottle of Ti Point a month or so ago and really liked it. To me it has a taste of fresh-squeezed lime in it and the lime becomes the overall flavor component. Now it's my go-to white summer sipper----good stuff. And the price is hard to beat.

I find interesting to read the different feedback on the same wine.
People forget that when it comes to very large production runs, the final product is made in different tanks, from different parcels. The wineries try hard to blend the various productions to reach a uniform and constant taste. This assemblage is not trivial.
This why it is good to try and if you like buy a case. Don’t assume the same wine in the store 2 months down the road will be from the same batch.

I generally like the KS Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc, and it is good value for money. But recently I tried Walmart's Winemakers Selection New Zealand Sauv Blanc. Priced a little higher at $8.99, but I thought it was great value too, and a little better. Wonder if you or readers have tried it?

The 2024 release has been available in my PNW store for a while now. When I first brought it home, I didn't realize it was a new release, but on tasting it I noticed right away that it was a bit different from what I had been drinking the day before. Not worse, just a little less tart with a little more body and more rounded mouth feel.
I still had some bottles of the 2023 at home and was able to taste the two vintages side by side. My wife and I both thought they were noticeably different. She actually liked the 2024 better. I am a real fan of the tart, green-apple and lime character of this wine, so I preferred the 2023, which leaned into that style a bit more. Either way, it's still a great value for an easy-drinking everyday white wine.
Costco must be buying enormous quantities of this stuff, because unlike some other wines, even tho it's a big seller it seems like it's in our store year-round. It'll be interesting to see if the character of the wine shifts as we get further into the summer.

I totally agree with your thoughts between the 2023 and 2024 bottles. I personally love the tart, crisp, snappy taste of NZ Sauv Blancs and have been a huge fan of Ti Point.
For me the 2024 just doesn’t cut it… though I will try another bottle and see if my thoughts are the same. I bought up the last of my stores 2023, it is my go to wine, I love it! 😂 I’ll be sad when it’s gone and hope for a more tart 2025!

This has been my everyday wine for a number of years now. I only buy the other labels like Kim Crawford or Oyster Bay because I don't want to seem cheap if I'm taking it to a gathering of people who enjoy wine. Glad to hear the newest vintage is just a delicious and 50 cents cheaper.

This is our go-to sauvignon blanc and we had a bottle the other day and it was as good as it's always been. I think the negative comments must have been a result of a few bad bottles.
