Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Cuis 1er Cru Blanc de Blanc Champagne

Published: Jul 23, 2025 by Editor ·

Pierre Gimonnet & Fils Cuis 1er Cru Blanc de Blanc Champagne

We had a special occasion to celebrate so we decided to swim upstream a bit in the land of Champagne to see what we could find at Costco.

That's what led us to this bottle. A 1er Cru, Blanc to Blanc, 100% Chardonnay, that is not inexpensive at $49.99, but quite a discount from other outlets that are selling this bottle online for between $55-$70.

This bottle has received a consistent string of high ratings too; 90-94 points across the popular critics from what we found. And we're right in the middle of that pack, bringing it in at a solid 91 points.

This wine is a nice golden color in the glass; delicate and elegant throughout with flavors of orange, lemon and peach; there's a touch of nuttiness and underlying minerality; crisp ultra dry finish.

The mouthfeel was a highlight, just perfect with gentle, light effervescence. This is a top notch Champagne we are happy we tasted, we are fine with splurging on, and one that will land on our Top Picks list.

I tried using the app and the Champagne did not come up. My local (Sacramento) stores only gave Kirkland, Veuve and Moet.

I'm quite sure this champagne will not show up at my local Costco located in fly-over country----but have to note that my wife and I are drinking, and enjoying, more bubbly all the time. The Kirkland offering is a great value----true champagne at $20--- that's amazing. And of the California offerings, we have really been enjoying the Roederer that Costco sells for $23.95--- really excellent stuff !
