We knew this label looked familiar but couldn't place it right away. A quick search of our site though, and then we had it.
We tasted and reviewed a Malbec we found at Costco from this producer three years ago, and enjoyed it, giving it 89 points.
This one grabbed our attention because we rarely see straight Cabernet Francs grace Costco shelves; this wine is priced pretty good at $13.99 and proudly displays the 94 points from Suckling.

The wine pours a deep ruby in the glass, super herbal on the nose with dark fruit; more of the same on palate with bell pepper, vegetal notes; blackberry, plum; a little smoky and toasty in the finish.
A nice change of pace and maybe not a wine you'd drink all the time, but a good one to expand your palate, or spring on a wine nerd.

So far in many decades of drinking wine, I have not been impressed with any wine that publishes critics' scores on the bottle. Especially James Suckling's.
But then again, everybody's taste is different. And I love well made Cab Franc.
I'd definitely give it a try if I see one.

I discount Suckling's ratings by 3 points. So this is still 90+ and worth it; very fruity
