2022 Ghost Block Oakville Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Holy smokes look what we found at Costco. We had to do a double take because this is one of our favorite Napa wines at an unbeatable price. And we've never seen it at Costco before.

This Ghost Block Oakville Estate Cabernet is almost always at least $100, if not more. At Total Wine it's $99, and Wine.com surprisingly came in less than that at $85.

We didn't see any ratings for the 2022 vintage in a quick search but historically, this wine has pulled down consistent critic ratings in the low to mid 90s, almost every vintage. 94 points from Wine Spectator for the prior year, which was a rockstar vintage.

Having just come off a trip to Napa where we tasted many excellent wines from the 2022 vintage, we were pleasantly surprised with how they're drinking right now.

The minute we got into this bottle, we remembered why we loved it so much. It's just classic, elegant Oakville Cabernet that delivers on every level.

It's a dark ruby in the glass, with aromas of black fruit, earth and spice; dark fruit flavor with black cherry, blackberry, and plum; full bodied with grippy tannins; notes of mocha, herbs and vanilla; super long finish. Exactly what you want this to be.

A beauty all around and although not an inexpensive wine, it's a steal at this price for a wine of this caliber.

For anyone looking for holiday gifts for their boss, or something to take to a party to share with people you like, this is a solid choice.

Otherwise, grab some for yourself to enjoy. If you have a taste for higher end Napa Cabernet, or are just curious what it's all about, you won't be let down.
