It's always around the fall season when Costco drops the Grands Vin de Bordeaux wooden boxes.
These have typically been great value buys, offering four 90+ point rated Bordeaux bottles for $29.99. Here's our look at last year's box.

This year we have four new bottles from the following regions: Cadillac (2), Cotes-de-Bourg and Blaye, with three of the four wines being Merlot dominated blends.
We'd love to taste and review each of these wines to report back, but probably won't have a chance. Readers, please respond in the comments below if you've tried them and share your thoughts.

Availability: We buy our wine in Costco warehouses around the Atlanta area. The best way to locate wines near you is by using the new Costco mobile app and searching with the Costco item number we listed above.

2022 was a great year for reds in Bordeaux so Im thinking these have got to be some good values at these prices. Bought the 4-pack today and plan to decant and devour with dinner tonight. Will report.

So far, not so good…when I uncorked the de Laville, the bottom of the cork had no red bottom, which is unusual, and the wine tastes like it’s gone bad. Bitter, vinegar like taste, I think the bottle has been compromised.

Update…have to backtrack a little bit…after having the catered Cabernet at an event at Perry’s Steakhouse, I came home and tried this Cabernet again, tasted better. I chalk it up to maybe not letting it breathe for a while before drinking, don’t know what else it could be.

I find it interesting that both last year’s and this year’s releases are 2022. I don’t have a long history of buying these so don’t know if this is normal or an indication of an issue like oversupply, lessening demand, etc.
